Chapter Sixteen
Redemption Scriptures
The scriptures below will be helpful to share when appropriate
with new converts.
Man was created with the ability to make a choice. When Adam
sinned, every person born from that point on was born into spiritual
death.
Romans 5
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world,
and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all
have sinned;
By One Man all are made righteous.
Romans 5
19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners,
so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Our redemption revolves around our identification with the sacrifice
of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 12
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;
who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising
the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of
God.
Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit.
Luke 1
35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost
shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow
thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee
shall be called the Son of God.
Jesus emptied Himself of divine privileges.
Philippians 2
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him
the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Satan had no legal claims on Jesus.
John 14
30 Hereafter I will not talk much
with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing
in me.
Jesus took our sin.
II Corinthians 5
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin;
that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
He Took our curse.
Galatians 3
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being
made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that
hangeth on a tree:
We are a new creature in Christ.
II Corinthians 5
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature;
old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
The Message of Christ
Acts 13
25 And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think
ye that I am? I am not he. But, behold, there cometh one after
me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose.
26 Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham,
and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this
salvation sent.
27 For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers,
because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets
which are read every Sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in
condemning him.
28 And though they found no cause of death in him,
yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain.
29 And when they had fulfilled all that was written
of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.
30 But God raised him from the dead:
Hebrews 9
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his
own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained
eternal redemption for us.
13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the
ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the
purifying of the flesh:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through
the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge
your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
